Let's call it sovereignty in the city.

Princess Eugenie of York has only been living in New York City for a short while—like, days—but she's already making her way around town like a native.

Well, an incredibly well-heeled native with a posh pad and a driver at the ready, that is.

The younger daughter of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson has started work at online auction house Paddle8. The business deals in artwork and pricey collectibles and claims on its website to take a lower commission than most houses, making the transactions more about the buyer and the seller by stripping out most of the middlemen.

Eugenie graduated from England's Newcastle University in 2009 with concentrations in literature, politics and art history, and has also worked for famed auction house Christie's...so her new position sounds rather fitting for her.

And just two weeks after what may have been a farewell ladies' lunch in London with Prince Harry's girlfriend, Cressida Bonas, she is diving into her new role of big-city career gal.

The 23-year-old royal has been spotted shopping with her mum (a career gal has got to have the right attire) in SoHo, and yesterday she had lunch with her boss, Paddle8 cofounder Alexander Gilkes, and then grabbed dinner with her dad at ABC Kitchen in Union Square.

For her business lunch with Gilkes, a pal of Harry and Prince William from their Eton days, Eugenie toted a leather jacket and wore a sleeveless olive-green shirt dress paired with of-the-moment ankle boots.

Gilkes was a guest at William and Kate Middleton's 2011 nuptials, and both Eugenie and her sister Princess Beatrice are said to have attended Gilkes' wedding to fashion designer Misha Nonoo in Venice, Italy, last year.

When it came time for dinner Wednesday, Eugenie changed into a burgundy silk dress and dressier ankle boot, and her leather jacket was in hand again, as well.

Back home, Eugenie has been romantically linked to Jack Brooksbank for several years. The couple enjoyed a black-tie night out with Harry and Cressida and Beatrice and her beau, Dave Clark, at the Boodles Boxing Ball at the Grosvenor House Hotel last month.
