Katie Holmes opted to play paparazzo today in New York City, where she was snapped taking a photo of a couple riding a Vespa on the street.
Suri's mama was all smiles as she snapped the iPhone shot, sporting a cute and carefree style while dressed in a long navy coat with black leather trim, skinny jeans and a button-down shirt. She wore her brown locks back in a messy bun and added short black boots and cat-eye shades to her casual ensemble, looking adorable as she captured the Kodak moment for the lucky pair.
Holmes is currently enjoying some down time in the Big Apple before she heads to South Africa, where she's set to film The Giver, alongside a star-studded cast that includes Meryl Streep, Taylor Swift, Alexander Skarsgård, Jeff Bridges and Australian actor Brenton Thwaites.
Principal photography on the film—which is based on Lois Lowry's 1993 Newberry Medal winning novel of the same name—is scheduled to begin Oct. 7 in Cape Town.
"I'm really excited about it," the actress told E! News of her upcoming project at the Global Citizen Festival in NYC's Central Park earlier this week.
The Giver is currently slated for an Aug. 15, 2014 theatrical release.
