It looks like that intervention worked!

Of course, that's not necessarily a good thing.

Just one day after overseeing the 2013 Emmys, which included a humorous sketch of his How I Met Your Mother costars' efforts to help him overcome Excessive Hosting Disorder, Neil Patrick Harris posted a tweet that seems to suggest he may be cured.

"Emceeing the Emmys was fun, but I'm sure glad it's over. Looking forward to not hosting anything for a long time," he wrote.

Say it isn't so!

Mind you, the guy didn't go so far as to state that he's completely done with such gigs, but still!

Then again, Harris has been keeping himself pretty busy in the last few years with various hosting duties (thus the intervention), so we don't blame him for wanting to take a bit of a breather.

A few hours later, after finding out that last night's was the most-watched Emmys since 2005, he returned to Twitter to add: "Nice! This year's Emmys had the largest audience since 2005. That makes my bosses very happy. Thanks so much for watching!"

Maybe hosting something again soon doesn't look so daunting anymore after all!
