Last night on the Emmys, we saw singing, dancing, Amy Poehler and Tina Fey falling and, of course, lots of awards being handed out.

But there were plenty of nuggets that the cameras weren't rolling on. Here, we give you five things you didn't see on television:

1. The Laughs Started Before the Show Even Began: As the stars made their way into the Nokia Theatre L.A. Love, an announcer pleaded with everyone to take their seats. "Please take your seats—it's the perfect excuse to get out of the conversation you don't want to be having," she said.

Another quip? "If you're still on the carpet, please come in...This show will start without you. It will be tragic, but it will start without you."

Also, producer Ken Ehrlich hit the stage to tell winners that there speeches would no longer be ended with music. He then showed a video of what would be happening—the clip was a horrifically violent scene from Game of Thrones. Too bad Ehrlich wasn't serious!

2. Even Hollywood Legends Have to Follow The Rules: Jessica Lange was one celeb who didn't make in time to her seat for the first award. She had to wait until commercial break to be let into the theater.

3. Live From L.A., It Was a Big SNL Reunion: During commercial breaks Amy Poehler ran over to give hug to Fred Armisen. Jimmy Fallon did the same with Bill Hader. And the cast of Modern Family really do love each other, too. Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Julie Bowen and Ty Burrell spent most of the breaks talking to, well, each other.

And talking about love, that was Lena Dunham jumping up to give a standing ovation to Nurse Jackie winner Merrit Wever.

4. The Ladies Really Do Love LL Cool J: While he made his way past the front aisle, the NCIS: Los Angeles star stopped to give kisses hello to Jane Lynch and Kerry Washington.

5.When It's Time to Go, It's Time to Go: Just ask Vera Farmiga, who ran to the restroom about halfway through the show, holding up her dress in order to move quickly (and safely!) through the packed lobby.
