Kerry Washington may not have made our best dressed list this time, but she did top our favorite beauty looks from the 2013 Emmys.

The Scandal star went for a romantic effect with flushed cheeks and rosy lips. Her hair was done by her longtime stylist Marcus Francis, who created loose curls, which were held in place by Leonor Greyl Spray Structure Naturelle.

Also flaunting ringlets? Julianne Hough and January Jones, who represent opposite (yet lovely) ends of the waves spectrum. The Mad Men star wowed with a retro style, while the dancer-actress rocked extra tousled beach waves. Both, however, brightened up with sparkling icy color eye shadow.

The cat eye got a modern update thanks to Kaley Cuoco's makeup artist Jamie Greenberg, who blended gorgeous plum shades in a graphic shape. Similarly, Sofía Vergara also flaunted a dramatic winged look using CoverGirl's Flamed Out Shadow Pots.

The best updo was either Heidi Klum's fun tri-ponytail, Maria Menounos' loose side braid or Claire Danes' faux bob. We're leaning towards Claire and not just because she won Best Actress.
