It seems like the ladies of daytime have been playing musical chairs lately, but is Katie Couric replacing Barbara Walters on The View?

A New York Daily News report published on Friday, Sept. 13, claimed the recently engaged Katie host wasn't drawing in big enough ratings in her show's second season, and that in lieu of just pulling it the program off the air, the TV journalist would shift over to a seat at The View. But, Babs, 83, and Katie, 56, both set the record straight, and...

"I love Katie and we are good friends," Barbara, who plans to retire in the summer of 2014, told E! News in a statement. "She is always welcome as a guest on The View, and I was recently a guest on her show, but there is no truth to the rumor that she will be taking my place on The View."

Katie also did her part to quiet the rumors. "It's totally not true and crazy how complete falsehoods get repeated," she reassured one fan on Twitter. "The world we live in I guess!"

"Wow!" she added, "Appreciate the interest but... completely not true."

And to complete the trifecta, a rep for The View also shot down the report in a statement, saying "There is absolutely no truth to this rumor whatsoever; it's completely erroneous."

And there you have it.
