Appearing as guest of honor at an awards ceremony put on by WellChild, a charity he patronizes that supports sick children and their families, the royal revealed that he just saw nephew Prince George smile for the first time.
The milestone occurred earlier today, in fact!
"I've just literally seen him," Harry told 9-year-old Nikki Christou of Enfield, recipient of the Most Inspirational Child Award (and some hot royal gossip!), before the ceremony at London's Dorchester Hotel began. "It was the first time I've seen him smile."
"He said he'd just come from seeing his nephew and he was having a bath, but normally when he sees him, he's usually sleeping or crying," said Nikki's mother, Tanya, per the British Press Association. "He said it was the first time he'd seen him smile. He seemed quite pleased."
Nikki, who has an incurable malformation in her face that has affected her nose, cheekbone and right eye, was being honored in the girls ages 7 to 11 category for raising 20,000 pounds for research into her condition.
And get this: The brave little girl also shares the royal baby's July 22 birthday, her father's name is George and she has a brother named Alexander, the wee prince's middle name.
Recalling their chat afterward to reporters, Nikki said that she told Harry about the coincidence and he said, "Wow! Very, very weird." She described Harry, who presented her and some of the other children with their awards, as "really nice."
Mary Kirk, whose daughter Madison received the Most Inspirational Child Award for girls ages 3 to 6, also noted how Harry said that having a nephew was "lovely" and "fantastic."
Harry told Madison, who is battling large cell lymphoma, that she looked "very pretty" today and she got to ask him what it was like being a prince.
"Good and bad," he replied, smiling.
Lauchlan Dougall, 11, had the honor of placing a traditional Tam O'Shanter hat on Harry's head, during which the royal closed his eyes and cheekily warned him, "If you slap me, I'll slap you back!"
WellChild chief executive Colin Dyer said about the event: "The WellChild Awards event is a fantastic celebration of the very deserving winners in all categories and Prince Harry's attendance makes the evening even more special for them."
Rod Stewart and wife Penny Lancaster were also among the U.K. celebs who made an appearance.
Meanwhile, this was just one stop on the day's agenda for Prince Harry, who also attended a fundraiser with Prince William in honor of the 658 BGC Partners employees who were killed on Sept. 11, 2001, at the World Trade Center. The brothers even took a turn at the trading desk themselves and helped broker a 25 billion euro transaction.
Harry and Will had also joined their father and stepmom, Prince Charles and Duchess Camilla, at a funeral for a close friend of Charles', this morning at Brentwood Cathedral in Essex.
