After being crowned Model of the Year at the 10th Annual Style Awards on Wednesday, Sept. 4, Kate Upton celebrated the following day with her mom, Shelly, at Nello restaurant in New York City's Upper East Side neighborhood. After finishing their meal, the pair—who look more like sisters than mother and daughter!—smiled for photographers and fans outside.
Kate, 21, kept things casual by wearing an emerald green mini-dress and flip-flops. Her mother, meanwhile, paired a white button-up with distressed denim.
In addition to being named Model of the Year, Kate has two other reasons to celebrate this fall: she covers September's Elle and October ‘s Vanity Fair. Her ubiquity isn't too surprising, given that Kate has often credited her mom, a former tennis pro, with inspiring her to succeed.
"The Uptons are very competitive," Kate told Vogue in 2012. "I definitely get my competitive instinct from my mom."
Like mother, like daughter!
