Emergency personnel reportedly rushed to a Los Angeles recording studio early Friday morning after receiving a call that the singer had suffered a seizure.
"While in the studio working early this morning, Chris suffered a non-epileptic seizure (NES)," Brown's rep told E! News. "He was not hospitalized. His doctor tended to him this afternoon and attributes the NES to intense fatigue and extreme emotional stress, both due to the continued onslaught of unfounded legal matters and the nonstop negativity. "
Per published reports, shortly after 1 a.m., the L.A. City Fire Department responded to a 911 call placed from the Record Plant studios along North Sycamore Avenue, but when they arrived, the 24-year-old singer purportedly refused to be taken to a hospital.
The L.A. City Fire Department confirms to E! News that a call was placed at 1:09 a.m. from the recording studio about a person suffering from a seizure, but authorities could not confirm the person's identity.
A few hours later, Brown's on-again, off-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran posted a pair of tweets that appeared to address Breezy's health scare.
"Prayers all day," she wrote, before adding, "a lot on my mind today .. I need a hug."
Brown was most recently spotted at a tattoo parlor in North Hollywood on Thursday, where, with the owner's consent, he painted graffiti art on a wall.
Earlier this week, Brown had quietly turned himself in to authorities at a jail in Van Nuys, Calif., in connection with his ongoing hit-and-run case.
According to a booking report obtained by E! News, the singer was released an hour later, and no bail was set.
Brown had pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from a May 21 incident in which he allegedly swiped a California woman's car, refused to provide his driver's license and then fled the scene.
A trial has been set for Aug. 15. It remains unclear how Brown's health scare might affect the scheduled proceedings.
