Ray Mickshaw / FOXAlthough Simon Cowell spends most of time on The X Factor bluntly telling the auditioning acts exactly how he feels (most of the time he thinks they are dreadful), his fellow judge Kelly Rowland says that when it comes to his baby on the way, he'll be a big softie.
"I think Simon will be a wonderful father," Rowland tells us exclusively while promoting the Fox reality series at the TCAs today. "It's not my news to share, but I do know about Simon and his character. He's going to be a great dad."
Cowell is expecting his first child with Lauren Silverman, who also happens to be the estranged wife of his best friend. And even if the situation surrounding the pregnancy is full of drama, Rowland insists that the Brit won't carry the controversy over to fatherhood.
"I think that he is always respectful. Always classy," she says. "And I think that he will be like that as a father. He will be a classic father figure."
Paulina Rubio, who also joined the Fox reality competition this year, agrees with her fellow judge.
"I believe he is very much like a leader, so I believe because of that he will be a very good father," she tells us.
And since Cowell is constantly surrounded by women on The X Factor, it would seem that he'll be adequately prepared if his baby turns out to be a girl.
"He is getting a serious dose of estrogen," Rowland laughs. "I don't know how he is going to do in the live shows, because it is crazy."
And bonus for Cowell: The former Destiny's Child member is up for babysitting!
"If he wants me to. I love babies!" she exclaims.
