Have a little faith, Joel McHale.

A fan submitted a question to The Soup host via Facebook, to be answered during his appearance on Larry King Now, about whether or not McHale would ever entertain the idea of hosting the Oscars.

And, well, he answered in true McHale fashion.

"Would I entertain the thought? I just entertained it. I was very entertained," he joked, "So was the thought, the thought was like, ‘This was a great time.'"

Yes, very funny, but in all seriousness, would the comedian take the gig if it was offered?

"They're not gonna call me," McHale insisted. "Look, I work on E! I'm trying to host a celebrity roast of some sort. Look, I'm happy. I would be a seat filler. I thought [Seth MacFarlane] was amazing, so I hope he does it next year."

We're not so sure they'll be calling Seth, however, and the Family Guy creator probably wouldn't answer even if they did. Justin Timberlake is the latest rumored frontrunner to host the show, though sources in his camp told Gossip Cop that idea was "premature and ridiculous."

Who would you want to see host the Oscars? Sound off in the comments!

Oh, you didn't know? Joel McHale's also a male model
