It's lights out for Enlightened.
HBO has canceled Laura Dern's dramedy after two seasons, E! News has confirmed.
It was a very difficult decision," a rep for HBO said in a statement. "We've decided not to continue Enlightened for a third season. We're proud of the show and we look forward to working with Mike White and Laura Dern in the future."
Though it was beloved by critics, Enlightened failed to attract a large audience.
Last year, Enlightened survived a bloodbath that saw HBO cancel Hung, How to Make It in America and Bored to Death.
Dern won the Golden Globe award for Best Actress in a Comedy Series for her work in the series' first season. It was also nominated for Best Comedy Series that same year.
