Liam Hemsworth isn't letting the manic rumor mill ruin his solo downtime Down Under.

Contrary to rampant reports that he and Miley Cyrus had split up, E! News exclusively reported yesterday that the two "are not giving up" on their relationship, as the actor continues to hunker down during his Australian getaway sans his fiancée.

Now, a local source tells E! News that Hemsworth has been keeping close to his family and friends, remaining "relaxed' amid all the swirling speculation.

"He's not been seen with any girls other than his mother," our source says exclusively. "He has just spent the last few days with family and close friends at his house on Phillip Island [where he grew up]."

The source also notes, "He seems in a relaxed mood—he doesn't seem especially sad [or] happy. He seems to be enjoying seeing his family as far as we can tell."

Indeed, earlier this week, the 23-year-old was photographed with his mom, Leonie, as they hit up a local supermarket, and the actor kept things laid-back as he strolled along dressed in a white tank top and shorts.

Meanwhile, Cyrus, 20, has remained in Los Angeles, where she's been hanging out with pals.

"[Miley and Liam] have been a bit rocky, but are not giving up," an insider told E! News Wednesday. "They both want it to work."
