While strolling through New York City on Tuesday, Eva Mendes was spotted carrying a bag containing what appeared to be—wait for it—a skull!

The actress reportedly picked up her latest possession while shopping at Kiki de Montparnasse, a boutique specializing in lingerie and other intimate accessories. And, apparently, skulls.

Hmm, a gift for boyfriend Ryan Gosling perhaps?

On second thought, we probably don't want to know the answer to that.
