More than a year and a half after she was acquitted of murder in the 2008 death of her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, the controversial 26-year-old stepped out publicly Monday in Tampa, Fla., to attend a meeting with her creditors to discuss her ongoing bankruptcy case, per NBC News.
In January, Anthony filed for bankruptcy, stating she had $1,000 in assets and $792,000 in debts. Those liabilities, according to published reports, allegedly included $500,000 in attorney fees as well as $145,000 owed to the Orange County Sheriff's office for investigative fees.
Dressed in a black coat, black dress and printed scarf, Anthony huddled close to her lawyer as they walked up to a federal courthouse in Tampa.
Anthony has largely remained out of the public eye since she was released from jail in 2011. But in January 2012, she briefly surfaced in a series of bizarre videos posted on YouTube.
In the video blog posts—whose release, her attorneys contended, had been unauthorized—Anthony sported different looks while talking directly to the camera about a range of random topics, including her dog and her computer.
Conspicuously, Anthony made no direct reference to her daughter's death except to cryptically and obliquely note that it was "just a little surreal how much things have changed since July and how many things haven't changed."
