Django Unchained star leaves Chateau Marmont with pal Kevin Connolly

Smoking is so not hot, but it looks like Leonardo DiCaprio is (thankfully) trying to kick the nasty habit.

The Django Unchained star puffed on an electronic cigarette Thursday as he left L.A.'s Chateau Marmont with Entourage star Kevin Connolly.

Leo is far from the first celeb to try and nix their nicotine addiction with Smokestiks. Katherine Heigl, Dennis Quaid, JWoww and yes, even Robert Pattinson, have enlisted the help of electronic cigarettes as well.

Congrats to all these folks on making the effort to quit!
