Carrie Underwood is unleashing her dark side.

The country crooner has unveiled the latest music video for her third single, "Two Black Cadillacs" off her hit album Blown Away, and she sheds her good-girl image in the dramatic clip, killing off her cheating boyfriend in a high-speed chase as she belts out the powerful tune.

The dramatic song is loosely based on Stephen King's novel Christine, and the video is an intense shift for the former American Idol star, rivaling her kick-butt 2006 hit "Before He Cheats."

In the video, Carrie plots to chase down her former lover with his mistress, and scenes of the two scorned women in a dark alley cornering the fallen Romeo are cut with images of a funeral procession.

The blond beauty also brings out her badass 'tude, looking sultry and sexy in sky-high stilettos, an all-black ensemble and deep red nail polish that shines as she grips the wheel with rage.

Although Ms. Underwood may be seeking vengeance on her cheating ex beau in the video, her reaction to her fans' approval was anything but bitter.

"Thank you all so much for the love you've been giving me for the "Two Black Cadillacs" video! You guys are awesome!" the superstar singer tweeted last night

But those weren't the only kind words the songbird had to share on social media; the season four American Idol winner also posted her thoughts about last night's auditions:

"There was some really amazing talent on @AmericanIdol as well as, uhem…some other interesting stuff…but the talent! Wow!" she wrote before adding, "The girl singing 'Cowboy Casanova' was awesome! She was such a nice surprise!" about Ashley Smith's performance.

From one American Idol to one aspiring artist, we bet that tweet just made Smith's night.

Congratulations on the killer video, Carrie!
