Awards season is creeping up, but before we kick off the red carpet at the Golden Globes on Sunday, numerous A-listers first took a trip to the desert to be honored at the Palm Springs Film Festival gala Saturday night, and E! News caught up with some familiar famous faces at the event, including Bradley Cooper, Ben Affleck, Naomi Watts and Helen Mirren.

Cooper, who received the Desert Palm Achievement Actor Award for his film Silver Linings Playbook, told us that this experience is, "incredible. I remember watching the photographs of David O. Russel winning last year here for The Fighter with Mark [Wahlberg] and Amy [Adams], and never thinking that I'd be here with him this year for a movie that I love so much. It's incredible."

Meanwhile, Affleck, winner of the Ensemble Performance Award for Argo, told E! News, "This is actually a very cool thing for me. My father lived for about 20 years in the next town over, Indio, Calif.," and also mentioned how pleased he is with the feedback from his latest movie.

"I'm thrilled anytime people have said that they've seen the movie, much less been touched by it. I've been around now for a little while and I've seen what happens when it's great, I've seen what happens when nobody wants to talk to you and I've seen what happens when people wanna see your movie and I've come to appreciate it."

But that's not all! Desert Palm Achievement Actress Award winner, Watts (The Impossible), International Star Award winner, Mirren (The Sessions) and Chairman's Award winner, Richard Gere (Arbitrage) also stopped to chat with us a bit about their accomplishments. Watch the clip to hear what they had to say.
