Tiffany Thornton, Demi Lovato's Disney Pal, Welcomes a Son

Actress and her husband, Chris Carney, named their baby boy Kenneth James (but he's already nicknamed KJ!)

In less than year, Tiffany Thornton has gone from newlywed to new mom.

Demi Lovato's former Sonny With a Chance costar and her husband, Chris Carney, welcomed a little bundle of joy on Tuesday morning.

"We are so proud to announce that Kenneth James Carney AKA 'KJ' was born in Los Angeles, California on 8/14/2012 at 6:52 AM," read a statement released by her rep. "KJ was born 7pounds, 15 ounces & 20 1/2 inches long to Chris and Tiffany Carney. In attendance at KJ's birth day, Godmother Cassandra Scerbo and Godfather Wilmer Valderrama showed up to support the young Hollywood couple alongside friends and family."

But Thornton and her hubby had already made sure to keep friends, family and fans abreast of the delivery via Twitter.

"7am baby," Carney tweeted. "@therealTiffany and [I] just had our first Son KJ!!! 8-14-12. So amazing!!!"

In July, Thornton had tweeted that KJ stood for Kenneth James. And just prior to giving birth, the 26-year-old Thornton told her followers, "Epidurals are amazing."

It was last November that the So Random! actress exchanged vows with Carney in Hot Springs, Ark., in front of family and friends—including Lovato, who brought Valderrama as her date.
