The controversial actor's even more controversial father, John Hutton Gibson, has filed for divorce from his second wife, Teddy Joye Hicks Gibson, after more than 10 years of marriage.

Irreconcilable differences put a wedge in things, according to the petition filed Friday in Los Angeles Superior Court.
Gibson lists their date of separation as May 28 and asks both that the court terminate its jurisdiction to award spousal support to his soon-to-be ex-wife and that she be responsible for all attorney fees.
Mel's mother, Anne, died in 1990. The Braveheart star was the sixth of his parents' 11 children.
