Malin Akerman is ready to rock out with her—wait, that doesn't work.

Regardless, the actress will be jamming out on the big screen as E! News confirms that Akerman will play Blondie singer Debbie Harry in an upcoming indie flick titled CBGB, after the iconic New York hotspot that she and her band often frequented.

Randall Miller's film will chronicle the legendary music venue (the acronym stands for Country, Bluegrass and Blues) and feature Alan Rickman as Hilly Kristal, the owner of CBGB, and Harry Potter's Rupert Grint as Cheetah Chrome, the guitarist for the Dead Boys. Production is set to start next month in Gotham.

Punk rock is not unknown territory for Akerman, who's last release was Rock of Ages alongside numerous big names like Tom Cruise, Russell Brand and Alec Baldwin.
