Those poor tween fangirls. Their hormones don't stand a chance now.
Eardrum-shattering squeals of delight can no doubt be heard on both sides of the pond this morning as chart toppers, teeny-bopper heartbreakers and heir apparent Brit boy band One Direction hinted quite heavily on Twitter that there may be a collaboration in the works with an artist who himself is no stranger to blind and unstoppable adoration.
And that artist is Justin Bieber.
"In the studio with our boy @justinbieber last night, it's gona sound great," tweeted One Direction's Niall Horan.
Is a song in the works? It certainly seems so. Fellow bandmate Liam Payne also tweeted about the studio session, writing, "got a first listen to justin bieber's new album yesterday wowww big songs!!! Its gunna be a smash...expect the unexpected."
While neither tweet flat-out promises a forthcoming duet (though do heavily imply as much), Bieber's manager Scooter Braun tweeted last month that a collaboration was "very possible" between the two artists.
"Studio was POPSTAR HANGOUT CENTRAL tonight," he wrote this week. "The next generation seem to be good people."
Meanwhile, Bieber & Co. aren't keeping all potential collaborations under wraps, with Justin revealing this week he's been recording with Usher and will.i.am.
"Studio with @iamwill and @usherraymondiv going in!" he wrote yesterday. Apparently it went well.
"Me and @usherraymondiv gotta have a duet on every album. #real." We don't think his fans will have any arguments with that.
