There's definitely some star (and superhero) power with the Dodgers, now.

E! News confirms that former Los Angeles Laker Earvin "Magic" Johnson was part of a purchasing group that won the bid for the Los Angeles Dodgers, shelling out $2 billion (yes, billion) for the famous baseball team.

But Magic wasn't the only notable name in the pack going up to bat for this team...

Johnson partnered up with five other men for this purchase, including Peter Guber, the producer of Tim Burton's Batman flicks, and hit films Rain Man and Flashdance.

Now we can add "part owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers" to his résumé, as well.

Magic said in a statement, "I am thrilled to be part of the historic Dodger franchise and intend to build on the fantastic foundation laid by Frank McCourt as we drive the Dodgers back to the front page of the sports section in our wonderful community of Los Angeles."

There's no word yet if capes and bat ears will be added to the players' uniforms.
