Alexandra Wyman/Getty Images Jennie Garth and Peter Facinelli shocked fans last week when they announced they were ending their 11-year marriage.
In a clip from her new reality show, Jennie Garth: A Little Bit Country (as excerpted on The Today Show), the actress admits that single life "will not be easy."
"[But] I know it's the right thing for us right now," Garth said of moving out to a California farm with her and Facinelli's three daughters: Luca, 14; Lola, 9; and Fiona, 5. "I feel it in my heart."
So how are she and the girls holding up?
"We're doing great, thank you," she told Access Hollywood on Tuesday.
She admitted, "My life is a little bit hectic right now," and "My personal life is kind of crazy, so this [move to the country] is what I need and the girls need right now.
"I wanted to move out of the city for a while, and something inside of me said, 'It's time.' I needed that sort of shelter," she said. "Some things in my life have been transitioning. I just needed that."
And while Facinelli will not be a part of Garth's CMT reality show, it will deal with her split. "But I hope that people will tune in and find out," she explained.
The couple made it clear in a joint statement last week that there were no third parties involved in their split, calling infidelity rumors "completely untrue and hurtful to our family."
