The driver on the other end of Shia LaBeouf's DUI crash will have his day in court, as well.

Herbert Simon, 21, has been cited for running a red light, a vehicular infraction that caused his July 27 smashup with the Transformers star.

Authorities are still trying to determine whether Simon was behind the wheel at the time, but Los Angeles Sheriff's spokesman Officer Steve Whitmore confirmed to E! News that the young man was issued a citation because it was his car that went through the light.

LaBeouf had been attempting a left turn at about 2:30 a.m. in West Hollywood when Simon's car hit his Ford F-150 truck, which rolled over twice. The actor and his passenger, Transformers 2 costar Isabel Lucas, were taken by ambulance to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he later underwent surgery for a broken left hand.

Lucas was treated for minor injuries and released later that day.

Also at the hospital, LaBeouf was booked on suspicion of misdemeanor driving under the influence in connection with the crash.

But while the black mark on his rap sheet made the accident look even worse for LaBeouf, the sheriff's department cleared up who was at fault two days later, announcing that the 22-year-old thesp had been hit while making a legal turn.
