Win or lose, we hope this guy is always an American Idol in his new son's eyes.

The gentlemen who have commanded the Idol stage over the last 10 years have followed a variety of paths since winning the competition, like Taylor Hicks and Kris Allen did; coming up a wee bit short, like Justin Guarini; or falling waaaaay short but becoming a media sensation, like Sanjaya Malakar.

But only one of them became a father for the first time at 6:26 this morning...

And it's Justin Guarini!

The season-one runner-up and wife Reina Capodici welcomed their first child together, son William Neko Bell Guarini, early Tuesday morning, Guarini's rep confirms to E! News.

The 7-pound, 2-ouncer joins 5-year-old Lola, Capodici's daughter from a previous relationship, in the fold.

Like many Idolers over the years whose recording careers didn't exactly pan out, Guarini has taken his bold-faced name to Broadway, just concluding a run in American Idiot on Sunday, in fact.

"Quite a polite fellow for waiting until late Monday, early Tuesday to make his entrance," Guarini told People, which first reported the happy news.

"With a full head of curly brown hair, wide open and alert eyes he came charging into the world. Reina is doing wonderfully and should be given a medal for going 10 months and 1 week with child."

Full head of curly hair? Sounds familiar.
