Here's an argument against animal testing if there ever was one.

In this trailer for the highly anticipated Rise of the Planet of the Apes—which hits theaters Aug. 5—we get a much better sense of what caused all the chaos in the 1968 Charlton Heston classic as James Franco's scientist and his team come up with a drug that "allows the brain to repair itself."

Of course, we don't really need to tell you that when they decide to use a furry friend named Caesar as the guinea pig, they realize an actual guinea pig might've been a better option since the eventual mutation leads to apes going, well, ape.

So take a look and let us know if this prequel looks bananas.
