A Bentley? Too flashy. A Rolls Royce limousine? How pedestrian!

Only the 109-year-old State Landau will do for Prince William and Kate Middleton, who tie the knot on April 29 and will be carried from Westminster Abbey to Buckingham Palace after their I-dos in the open carriage pictured above.

Just visualize a couple of horses and a gorgeous white gown spilling out of one side and you get the idea of what the scene will look like on the big day.

The coach, which was originally built for King Edward VII, is usually trotted out for William's grandmum, Queen Elizabeth II, when she entertains heads of state. It will head up a five-carriage procession carrying the rest of the wedding party, including Kate's sister Pippa, her maid of honor; Prince Harry, who is serving as his brother's best man; and the bride and groom's parents.

Not that there won't be a Rolls involved...

Middleton and her father will ride to Westminster Abbey in the same Rolls Royce Phantom that was carrying Prince Charles and Camilla when they were set upon by protesters in London.

And if it happens to rain, Plan B is to ferry the newlyweds to Buckingham Palace in the glass coach Princess Diana rode in when she married Wills' father in 1981.
