Everyone loves a little sparkle, especially during the holidays.

This season designers have plenty of options at every price point to let you shimmer and shine. Start out with a fantastic dress to get you in party mode—like Anne Hathaway, Michelle Williams and Ashlee Simpson-Wentz have been rocking on the red carpet.

This silver wrap dress from MNG by Mango is a youthful and fun look for many body types, while this ABS three-quarter sleeve dress with shoulder pads is more sophisticated and fashion forward. Or try splurging with this '60s-inspired mod dress from Winter Kate. I even managed to find an adorable dress for $25 at Walmart!

And there are plenty of other ways to get that holiday sparkle...

Dare to be bold in some twinkling trousers like the flares from St. John or some skinny pants from Ralph Lauren Blue Label—and for a more relaxed look try these sequin leggings from Alice + Olivia. You can even show off your gams with these sequin shorts (which I've already told you how to wear) from Hot Topic.

When your bottom is blinging, keep your top minimal with a chic cashmere sweater or simple blouse. The quickest way to go from day to night is with a sequin cardigan or blazer. Just top of your day look with this sequin cardigan from J.Crew or, for a more affordable option, try this one from Sears. This blazer from Victoria's Secret has lots of bling for your buck, but my favorite is the Theory Abree E sequin dress styled by yours truly. I love that this can be worn as a dress, a coat or belted like a long cardigan.

When your garb is glistening, remember to show some restraint when you accessorize.  Avoid looking like a show girl by limiting your glimmer to one major piece of clothing per outfit and keeping your accessories simple and embellishment-free.

But if your outfit is simple, you should go all-out with accessories that have major gleam. Judith Leiber has a world of bright shiny things from its classic bags that you will use forever to these superchic belts. Swarovski is synonymous to crystal with super statement necklaces like the Maniac and fantastic cocktail rings like the Majesty.

As for footwear, sparkle from your head to your toes with these über-glam glitter booties from Miu Miu or dance under the mistletoe in Jimmy Choo's Zafira platform from its 15th Anniversary Project Crystal collection.

I know that many of these looks are aspirational, but I found this incredible site where you can literally take a lease on a bit of luxury. Rent the Runway allows you to don that gay apparel and fa-la-la-la-la until you have to return it in their preaddressed envelope.

Whether you choose to rent or own this holiday season, just remember: It's totally cool to shine and shimmer all year round. Happy holidays!
