He may be a no-show for the film festival, but the newly kinda-single guy is showing his face a lot more in Miami and Haiti

Update: A rep for Penn tells us he is not buying a house in Haiti. Instead, he stays at the camp with the rest of his relief organization, J/P HRO.

________

Sean Penn certainly knows how to work hard and play hard.

The temperamental Oscar winner had a ball in Miami over the weekend, getting in some pleasure time before heading back to work—in Haiti, that is.

Sean recently pulled out of the Cannes Film Festival, where his new movie, Fair Game, is premiering, because he is set to testify at a U.S. Senate hearing on the Haiti earthquake.

So just how dedicated is Penn to the cause?

He may not be purchasing a pad down in Haiti, but he is currently in Washington DC and ready to focus on the Senate hearing instead of rushing overseas to Cannes.

Lindsay Lohan should have taken note.

But who needs the south of France? Leave it to one of Hollywood's more experienced partiers to blow it out before he gets down to work.

Over the weekend, the Pennster channeled his old bad-boy self, hitting Coco de Ville at the Gansevoort South for a little flirting with a handful of ladies.

He was there on Saturday night with a couple of Miami nightlife power players, enjoying some R&R between travels to Haiti. Sean's crew sipped on vodka tonics throughout the night and all looked like they were having a very good time.

So was Sean rewarded for his do-gooder ways, if you know what we mean?

Most likely, as we're told by our South Beach spy. A pretty blonde Penn was flirting with followed him out of the club shortly after he left the table.

Hey, seems like charity work really does the body good! Out spies tell us that Penn was looking yummy and relaxed in a black tee, a black blazer and jeans.
