James Franco likes to keep us guessing.

Just last night, the Ivy League-educated actor was a surprise performer at Campari's 150th birthday bash at the Bowery Hotel.

And not only did he sing for all the partygoers, but he did a duet with drag performer Kalup Linzy!

"He wanted it to be kept hush-hush," a source tells me of his show.

So what did he sing?

"He was singing lines like, 'Gimme ass,'" a source says, adding that James also belted out "Proud Mary."

So he sings, he acts and he's college-educated—what's not to love about this guy?
