It's hard to believe, but one thing on 30 Rock is not funny.

Actor Grizzwald "Grizz" Chapman, who plays one half of Tracy Morgan's security detail on the NBC comedy, is facing kidney disease that's no laughing matter.

The 35-year-old star appears on Tuesday's episode of The Dr. Oz Show, where he tells Dr. Mehmet Oz of his struggles.

The 6-foot-11, 378-pound actor is on dialysis three times a week for severe hypertension, the New York Daily News reports. He's currently on the waiting list for a kidney transplant, but has to lose 75 pounds before he can even be considered a candidate.

Regardless of his weight loss, though, that waiting list is nearly five years long.

Of course, the outlook on his hypertension didn't always look this grim.

Chapman admits on the show that he ignored his high blood pressure—even refusing to take medication for it—for more than decade.

Oz's "Truth Tube" found that the star was only getting 5 percent of his kidney functions.

"The reality of the prognosis is…we don't know," Oz says. "It depends on how things are managed. It's like being at the halftime of a game. We didn't play so well in the first half, but there are a lot of opportunities moving forward. He's got a winning spirit, and if we follow his story carefully, everyone's going to learn a lot from it."

Assuming all goes according to plan, Chapman will continue to work and everyone will laugh a lot as well.
