Holy wow. It happened.

If you haven't yet seen the last five minutes of House's latest episode, "Joy," turn back now, because there is a discussion ahead of a major (and long-awaited) plot twist we don't want to spoil...

If you did watch the last five minutes of House, read on, because some major stuff went down between House (Hugh Laurie) and Cuddy (Lisa Edelstein)...

Well, well, well...

In case you missed anything while you were in the kitchen getting snacks, in this episode of House, "Joy," Cuddy plans to adopt a baby. The baby is sick, and Cuddy is awesome, and the baby is saved...only to have the baby's birth mother back out of the arrangement.

After Cuddy's battle for baby is lost, our favorite hospital administrator returns home and collapses in the empty nursery. She looks unbearably sad, and kudos to actress Lisa (not character Lisa) for her amazing range in this episode, in a huge array of scenes that show everything from her need for House's reassurance during the consultation to her nail-biting anxiety in the operating room to her absolute desolation in that empty room.

Despite being his typical strife-sowing self throughout the rest of Cuddy's journey toward motherhood—as you may have noticed, House is not exactly the most supportive, sensitive guy—who should show up in Cuddy's time of need but Dr. Gregory House himself?

Cuddy is afraid House will gloat; she yells at him for negating everything between them; they stand in the foyer for a bit, looking confounded; and then it happens: House totally kisses Cuddy.

OMG indeed! I certainly didn't see that coming!
