Rob Thomas to Pen Both 90210 and Cupid Pilots

Yay! I just heard from one of our favorite television producers, Mr. Rob Thomas (of Veronica Mars fame, not Matchbox 20), and he tells me it's true that he's working on the CW's spinoff of Beverly Hills, 90210 and also a remake of his Cupid series—which ABC just ordered a pilot for yesterday. 

Is it just me, or did we suddenly win the R.T. lottery?

For those of you who are curious (like me) about how this will work with Rob doing both pilots, here's what he says about where things stand: "I'm writing the 90210 pilot. We're in wait-and-see mode as to whether I can produce both pilots [Cupid and 90210]. It has everything to do with how staggered the ABC and CW pilot deliveries are. I'd like to produce both pilots, but I suspect the decision may not be mine to make."

Note to ABC and CW: Pwetty pwease? Two '08-'09 TV pilots written and produced by Rob Thomas could make us Veronica fans so giddy, we might even forgive the cancellation of our Neptune pals. Okay, probably not, but still, it would be all kinds of awesome.
