The Project Runway finale is so very close, and guess who saw the Bryant Park runway collections of Jerell, Kenley, Korto and Leanne?

We did!

We also talked to judges Nina Garcia and Michael Kors, so here's a juicy little peek at what's gonna go down in the finale, and why the ladies have the advantage...

According to Nina Garcia, "The women had the strength this time around—they glowed in the finals." Ruh-roh. Do you sleuthy viewers know something I don't know?

Michael Kors agreed: "I think this season on Project Runway we had really talented women. We're going to see a different perspective when you see that many female designers."

So, what did the women (and sexy Jerell) put on the runway, which you will see in next week's finale?

JERELL'S SHOW

  • A black, gold and fuchsia color palette combined with lots of sequiny sparkle and black netting.
  • A maximum amount of minis! Some work, some don't.

Con: When couturiers attack, they bring their Bedazzlers.
Pro:
A collection that showcases Jerrell's self-confidence and sophistication.

KENLEY'S SHOW:

  • A huge variety of prints that impressively are all from the same jewel-toned color palette. (She must have shopped her cute butt off.)
  • She has the most diverse fabric choices of the lot: tulle, multicolored fluff, feathers, etc.
  • She sticks to her familiar vintage-inspired style but makes some gorgeous dresses that are both high fashion and commercial.

Con: The patterns are almost seizure-inducingly busy.
Pro:
Tremendously well-made. I see tons of celebs loving this line!

KORTO'S SHOW

  • A largely cool palette of sea green, grass green and teal, accented with metallics and chunky, beaded jewelry.
  • Most of Korto's models carry fans made of dyed natural fibers. Imagine paddles that escaped from a game of hippie pingpong.

Con: The vibrant colors become relentlessly similar after a while.
Pro:
Her African-inspired looks in a naturalistic palette are both desirable and flattering.

LEANNE'S SHOW

  • Silhouettes made for the fairy queen of a streamlined futurescape.
  • This collection is defined by uniquely formed pleats that look like...automobile air filters? Sounds awful, looks exquisite. (The audience burst into applause at first sight.)
  • Her palette is extremely chilly, largely limited to ice blue, gray blue and white.

Con: So emotionally reserved as to be a little off-putting.
Pro:
Soft, enchanting femininity designed by a master engineer.

Now, can Kenley stay in her comfort zone and still win? Will Jerell's sloppy work be his downfall? Can mousy Leanne make enough noise with her clothes to take the top prize? Or will Korto continue her streak of outstanding work and coast to the finish line?
