Mary-Kate Mum on Heath…to a Point

Mary-Kate Olsen is, and isn't, talking about Heath Ledger.

As E! News confirmed a report that the moneyed former child star is seeking immunity before talking to federal investigators probing Ledger's fatal overdose, Olsen's lawyer released a statement that makes the 22-year-old's message loud and clear.

"Despite tabloid speculation, Mary-Kate Olsen has nothing whatsoever to do with the drugs found in Heath Ledger's home or his body, and does not know where he obtained them," said Olsen attorney Michael C. Miller.

Olsen was back in the Ledger story today after the New York Post reported she has declined to be interviewed by the Drug Enforcement Administration—unless the agency shielded her from possible prosecution. DEA agents are investigating where Ledger obtained the prescription drugs that led to his accidental overdose Jan. 22 in New York City.

Olsen, the former Full House star-turned-media mogul-returned-actor of Weeds and The Wackness, is just one of several people who was sought out for interviews, the Post said, but she is the only one who hasn't done one. E! News confirmed that the New York Police Department had its records on the case subpoenaed—a move the NYPD described as standard.

The statement from Olsen's attorney portrays Olsen as being cooperative.

"Regarding the government's investigation, at Ms. Olsen's request, we have provided the government with relevant information including facts in the chronology of events surrounding Mr. Ledger's death and the fact that Ms. Olsen does not know the source of the drugs Mr. Ledger consumed," Miller said.

The statement does not specifically refer to the immunity request, but does say the media's descriptions of the government investigation are "incomplete and inaccurate."

Olsen was publicly linked to the Ledger case when Diana Wolozin, the masseuse who discovered The Dark Knight star's body, placed three calls to the young actress before dialing 911. Wolozin found Olsen's number via Ledger's cell phone.

In her first statement on the matter in January, Olsen, who was in Los Angeles at the time of Ledger's death, called the actor "a friend." The two reportedly had dated in the months prior to Ledger's death.
