After showing some serious badassness in the a-ma-zing Grey's Anatomy season finale, it's only fitting Jesse Williams be promoted to series regular.

And whaddya know? All's right with the world today, because our frenemy over at EW.com confirms the faux doc's much-deserved promotion. Plus, we just caught up with Jesse, who told us all about his good Grey's news...

Like most of the Grey's gang (minus that brilliant Shonda Rhimes), Jesse's still in the dark about Jackson's role in season seven. That doesn't mean he's not crazy excited!

"I'll find out [about next season] around July 10 or July 12 when we go back to work, but maybe I can sneak by the office and take a peek at something," Jesse laughed. "Otherwise, it's a total mystery...but who am I kidding? I wanna know."

Considering his recurring status last season, this promotion means that much more to him. "Last year was so week-to-week, I didn't know what was going to happen or if I was going to have a job next week, and to now have all the signs pointing to that I'll be there, so I just want to know what's in the future," he said. "But they always do such an amazing job, I really couldn't be in better hands."
