Hallelujah! Let's just take a moment to reflect on the fan-freaking-tastic news of Life Unexpected's renewal...Good? Good!

As soon as we heard that lovable LUX would be back for more, we tracked down its stars Shiri Appleby, Kristoffer Polaha and Kerr Smith to get their instant reactions...

"I'm so excited!" gushed Shiri. "Everyone is so happy."

Kris said, "I'm real good now that we've got a little second season in the bag," while Kerr added,  "We're all very pumped. It was a long wait, but it's a great show."

It was just over a month ago these three were fighting to keep Life Unexpected on the air in our Save One Show campaign (where Kerr claims to have voted 10 times a day).

So what were they up to when they got the call Tuesday morning?

"I was at the gym when I found out, and I looked at my phone and started getting all these emails and text messages that we got picked up," said Shiri. Kerr was in a similar boat: "I actually had my phone off when they made the announcement and when I turned it on, this thing got flooded."

Kris, meanwhile, had a different story. "I was literally at my business manager's handing over life insurance forms," he explained. "My agent called when I was about to get in the elevator and was like, 'Guess what, buddy? You've got some good news!' The best thing is the fact that I get a chance to bring Baze back. I have a lot of fun with him, so it's a joyful job to go back to."

Most of that joy, the stars told us, comes from the viewers. "We have the most amazing fans of any show in television in the history of television," Kris said. "These people are so supportive and encouraging and responsive and it makes this enjoyable."

Added Kerr: "Thanks for everybody voting to save the show. I'm glad we're back, it's a relief. I'm excited to go back to work."

"A huge, huge thank-you to everyone who watched the show and supported it with all their friends and family," Shiri gushed again. "I feel like we all did this together. We won't be in this trouble next year!"
