Talk about some major mama drama!

This Friday's episode of Smallville marks the return of everyone's favorite Supermom, Martha Kent, and she's bringing along a little surprise—new man candy, Perry White. What's this mean for the blue-and-red-leotarded one?

We'll let returning twosome (and real-life married folk) Annette O'Toole and Michael McKean do the talking...

What about the much-talked-about interaction between Perry White and Lois Lane?
M.M.: It's a case of a Woodward finding her Bernstein. Perry is impressed right away with how sharp Lois is, and I've read some of her things and think she's talented. But it really kicks into high gear when we realize that the two of us have been working on the same story—two very, very different ends of the same story. We're all looking for the MacGuffin, if you will—a story that in itself is not all that fortunate. But it definitely is something that's going to move things forward. Perry and Lois are kindred spirits.

Fans are upset there's not much Perry-Chloe interaction. Is it possible we'll see the two of them together at any point in "Hostage"?
M.M.: We never saw Allison [Mack]. We know her really well, and I was disappointed we didn't run into her. But our paths did not cross on page or in real life.

All right, give us one big tease to end on! What are you most looking forward to in Friday's episode of Smallville?
M.M.: You do get to hear Perry say "great Caesar's ghost!" [Laughs.] I say it beautifully too. I don't praise my own work, but man, I nailed that line.
AOT: I think so, too.

To sum all of this up, there's a sort of resolution fans will ultimately get with Perry and Martha's return?
AOT: Absolutely! Plus, there's action up the wazoo!

Tune into Smallville's "Hostage" Friday at 8 p.m. on the CW, and if you're in the mood for more Michael, don't miss his run on Celebrity Jeopardy through the end of the week—he's dominating, folks!
