After losing 239 pounds during his stint on NBC's The Biggest Loser, season-eight winner Danny Cahill is headed home to Broken Arrow, Okla., to restart his family life, and there are some big changes in the works for the Cahills this holiday season.

Among other things, says Danny, "Whenever Christmastime comes, my wife would have to get on the ladder to put the Christmas lights on the house, because they don't make a ladder that handles 450 pounds. This year, I'm putting the lights up!" (Awww.)

What else has changed in Danny's world? Well, Mr. and Mrs. Cahill are apparently doing a home version of The Biggest Loser: Couple's Edition...

Could it be that the family that loses together stays together? Danny spills, "When I left for the ranch, my wife weighed 217 pounds, and she has lost over 60 pounds and is now in the 150s, and she wants to get down another 15 to 20 pounds to get to her goal weight…My in-laws and my extended family, they've started losing weight, too." That family-oriented weight-loss enterprise will continue in the coming weeks, as Danny tells us, "[My wife and I are] going to be accountable to each other. Every Saturday, we're going to weigh in together, and we're going to be accountable to each other. No, not on the big Biggest Loser scale, but I've got a little Biggest Loser scale in my bathroom, and we use it religiously."

And the upcoming holiday eating season isn't going to change that or reverse Danny's remarkable weight-loss progress. According to Danny, he's learned a lot about good eating habits this past year, and the key is moderation. He says, "This Christmas, I am going to have a glass of eggnog, and I'm going to have a Christmas cookie, I'm just not going to have a plateful of Christmas cookies and a whole half-gallon of eggnog."

As for the New Year—that time when dieters everywhere traditionally get back on the weight-loss wagon—Danny reveals, "My New Year's resolution is to keep in the gym, and I've made that resolution early. When I get home from New York City on Friday, I'm back in the gym...for at least 30 days, every day except Sunday until I work out a schedule."

Danny does admit to fears about regaining the weight, saying, "There's definitely a fear, because it's unknown territory. I haven't been [here] in a long, long time. I regained the weight once. That was why this was definitely a second chance for me. I was overweight as a child, and when I was 15 I lost 75 pounds over a summer and kept it off for eight years and then I gained all that plus another 150 pounds. It is scary, but you know what? I now have the knowledge to keep it off, and the thing that I'm going to have to do is stay diligent and not give up, not stop. An object in motion tends to stay in motion, an object that is at rest tends to stay at rest, and that's just the same way it is with us as human beings."

That business about objects at rest versus objects in motion isn't just weight-loss wisdom, that's life wisdom, people! No wonder Danny is one of the most beloved Biggest Loser contestants ever.

How did Danny's major weight loss inspire you? And what were your favorite moments from this season of The Biggest Loser?
