Will James Franco Join His Little Bro on the New Scrubs?

The new, revamped version of Scrubs premieres tonight, and you'll finally get to meet the new "next generation" cast, including one Dave Franco, who is not only a heartthrob in his own right, but just so happens to be movie star James Franco's little brother!

We know there's room at Sacred Heart for new faces, since old-timers like Zach Braff are moving on to other projects, but are there any plans to bring the Spider-Man baddie onto the ABC comedy for a guest stint?

Here's what we're hearing from original castmembers about the presence of the Franco brothers in Scrubs-land:

First off, you should know that new castmember Dave Franco (who plays an entitled and naughty-minded young med student named Cole) is getting pretty good notices from the likes of original series star Zach Braff.

"We love Dave Franco, we live vicariously through him. He's young, handsome," Zach gushed when E! News caught up with him on set. "He really should be on the CW, he should be on Gossip Girl. I don't know how they didn't nab him up, but we got him; Dave's our CW."

And what about James Franco, Dave's older brother? Is it possible that the Alphabet net could entice him to depart his daytime drama gig on General Hospital (which is rumored to be part of an experimental indie-film project) and collaborate with his sibling on a prime-time single-camera comedy? "It's been thrown around. He's got so much stuff going on that he might show up at some point, but who knows—he's got such a crazy schedule," Dave gladly hinted. Make it happen, Francos!

Now, besides all this Franco-related hotness, why should you watch the new Scrubs? If you won't take our word for it, listen to Zach Braff, will ya? "It's the same show—true, I'm not gonna be on it and Sarah Chalke's not gonna be on it except four episodes, but it's everybody else with a lot of new funny people," explains Zach. "It has a whole new life to it. These young kids are really talented, and people who like the Scrubs humor are really gonna like the show." We concur!

Still having trouble wrapping your mind around the concept? We'll let Donald Faison (Turk) elaborate: "It's like Saved by the Bell: The New Class, I'm Screech or Belding—I'd prefer to be Belding though." Even John C. McGinley (Dr. Cox) is a fan of the new setup, telling us: "Stylistically, Scrubs is not any different. There are still fantasies and it's still very glib, very sardonic, but there's a whole fresh energy that elevates the piece." Plus Dr. Cox is still the same ol' jerk we know and love. "He's upped the ante, because he views the students as mini-murderers, potential assassins of patients to come."

J.D. and Turk are still the best bromance around, and even though Zach's run on Scrubs isn't long-term, Donald isn't worried. "He'll be back again," referring to J.D.'s many final episodes at Sacred Heart. And their endearing bromance even carries offscreen. "I hope to see Zach every day...or once a month is good, too."

Have we convinced you yet that Scrubs is back in a big way? Will you tune in tonight to check out what all the fuss is about, or are you moving on to greener pastures?

Scrubs airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on ABC.
