It's hard to forget the moment on American Idol when Simon Cowell told Kris Allen that it might have been too soon to play the wife card. His wife, Katy, was sitting right there and had a horrified look on her face when the judge made the on-air comment. But Kris says his wife was not just a good sport about it but that she actually agreed with what Simon had to say. Check it out...

"She had actually been saying that kind of stuff before," Kris said on the call with the press this morning. "She was like, 'I don't know if you need to mention me.' She was trying to look out for me as well." Kris went on to say that his wife of eight months wouldn't be joining him on tour this summer or working for him (some rock wives do work as their husbands' assistants). "We'll probably try to keep it separate just because more than anything, I don't want her following me around," said Kris. "And she has things that she is passionate about, and she will start doing those things. I believe in her just like she believes in me. Things are definitely going to change, but we're really strong." So what is she passionate about? "She's really passionate about acting, and she's got some other passions as well, just helping people. I know she wants to start some foundations and stuff like that."
