Is Ugly Betty Ending? And Who Gets the Girl?

Chris Gorham just twittered an hour ago that he's back on the set of Ugly Betty and that "Ana Ortiz's baby is beautiful."
This makes us worry.
Not because of the baby comment (we've seen Ana's Paloma; she's a living angel!), but because of what sources have been spilling about Betty's fate: That the end may be near and Betty's ghosts of suitors past are circling.
Although Gorham himself has clarified via Twitter, "I'm not back on Ugly Betty. Just dropped by to visit my friends," according to sources, he may be very soon...
Inside sources tell me that ABC has been working on ways to try to save Ugly Betty (including the possibility of moving it to Wednesdays, as previously reported); however, if ratings don't improve by mid spring, it's possible that Betty will be canceled in May.
To that end, one well-placed Betty mole tells me: "The writers have accepted that this season may be the last and are brainstorming endings now, just in case. The big question is: Who will Betty end up with? The writers room is deeply divided."

A Beautiful Boy for Ugly Betty's Ashley Jensen

She's got a bambino and it was no accident.
Accidentally on Purpose star Ashley Jensen and her actor hubby, Terence Beesley, are celebrating the arrival of a bouncing baby boy on Oct. 20, according to People.
The Emmy-nominated Jensen, who previously starred on Ugly Betty and Extras, named the tyke Francis Jonathan Beesley (or, as his parents are already calling him, Frankie Jack). He's the couple's first child.
Jensen and Beesley had been dating for six years when they tied the knot in California in 2007. She announced her pregnancy in July, just after wrapping her final season as an Ugly Betty regular.
The 40-year-old Scottish actress is currently on maternity leave from the Jenna Elfman-fronted Accidentally on Purpose, which debuted in September to solid ratings. Jensen plays a reporter who finds out she's going to have a baby after a one-night stand.
Talk about method acting.

Ugly Betty May Steal Eastwick Slot From Lost

Not even Jerry O'Connell's bare backside could save it.
Despite JOC telling us he was just shooting some "sexy scenes" last night on the set of Eastwick, the news has broken that his wife Rebecca Romijn's series is a goner. ABC has confirmed that no new episodes will be produced beyond the original 13-episode commitment.
So this means Lost is a shoo-in to come back to Wednesday nights, right?
Maybe not.
ABC insiders tell me another series might be headed for that cushy slot, and its star happens to rock a mean Guadalajara poncho...

Who would ever have imagined that January Jones is brave enough to jump into the ocean to swim with sharks?
But that's exactly what she did recently in the Bahamas with Oceana, an environmental group dedicated to protecting the world's oceans. She hoped to send a message that sharks are not only vital to ocean life, but they're also not as scary as most people think.
"It's exhilarating," Jones told me yesterday at Variety's Power of Women luncheon, where she was honored for her work with Oceana. "They're beautiful creatures and to be in that close proximity with them was a dream come true."

This week is off to a grim start for Paula Abdul.
The dancing shows don't want her, and now she won't be bringing the pretty to Ugly Betty after all.
"Paula will not be on our show," an ABC spokesman tells E! News.
Abdul was slated to appear on the America Ferrera comedy as a temp at Mode who buddies up with Becki Newton's Amanda. The episode was supposed to begin shooting this week.
ABC did tease, however, that 3rd Rock From the Sun funnylady Kristen Johnston would be guest-starring on the show. No word if she'll be filling the shoes of Amanda's new friend or not.
Could this mean a return-to-Idol announcement may be imminent?

Things Are Getting Ugly for Paula Abdul

We kid. It's actually quite the opposite.
On the heels of leaving American Idol and endless speculation as to where she will end up next, E! News has confirmed that Paula Abdul is in talks to guest star on ABC's Ugly Betty.
That's right, folks, the little Paula that could continues to rebound after last week's A.I. debacle. While info about Abdul's potential role on the underdog series is being kept secret, our best frenemy Michael Ausiello reports she'll play a Mode temp who becomes fast friends with Becki Newton's Amanda.
We can only imagine the misadventures these two will find.
If ABC keeps this up, they may just land Paula for Dancing With the Stars after all. We'll keep you posted...

Now that the hilarious Ashley Jensen is Jenna Elfman's sidekick on CBS' new Accidentally on Purpose (a pilot that made all of team WWK laugh out loud repeatedly), does that mean her Ugly Betty days are over?
We hope not, and so does she. "There has been talk of it," the Scottish funnylady told us at the CBS TCA party last night. "I didn't die in it. I wasn't run over by a tractor, and I didn't fall down an elevator shaft.
