Tyra Banks' Top Model Stunt: Racy or Racist?

Americas next top model, erin Tyra Banks/Pottle Productions Inc , Jerry Mettellus/The CW

Sure it might be Halloween with its usual goofy costumes, but we're finding one getup just plain horrifying.

On last night's America's Next Top Model, Tyra Banks asked contestants to smear on some heavy-duty makeup and pose as biracial women.

Sure, they tried to make it sound exotic by having the leggy ladies look like Tibetan-Egyptian or Botswana-Polynesian women, but at the end of the day, they were still coated in creams to darken their skin tone.

This isn't the reality series' first time under fire for racy choices—ANTM had contestants take pictures as different ethnicities back in season four.

And it comes in the wake of Mad Men's Roger Sterling donning blackface at a party, Harry Connick Jr. criticizing an Australian TV show over a sketch by white actors in face paint mocking the Jackson 5 and Madonna admitting she once posed as "Black Madonna" but opted not to use the photos in fear that only a minority of fans would understand them.

Trick or Treat, Indeed: Tyra Makes It a Kardashian Halloween

Traditionally, Halloween costumes are based on terrifying creatures, hideous monsters and repulsive ghouls.

Where a Kim Kardashian getup falls into that we won't venture to say, but that's the outfit of choice this season for Tyra Banks, (given her proportions, all she really needs is a wig) who'll debut her look on Friday's show (4 p.m. on the CW Network).

A sexy costume, for sure, but wouldn't a Bruce Jenner mask have been scarier?

Oprah vs. Tyra vs. Ellen Dance-Off Really Happening

This year, there is only one way to premiere a daytime talk show: a choreographed dance. Maybe all the reality dance competition shows are to blame—Dancing With the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, America's Best Dance Crew—or maybe America just really likes dance breaks in the middle of the afternoon?

Whatever the case, earlier this week, Tyra Banks tried out a little dance routine (again) for the premiere of her show. Yes, it was ridiculous.

It's pretty hard to watch Tyra flail around with whatever smile she calls that plastered on her face. At least Oprah was smart enough not to participate...

New Season of Top Model Short on Stature, Tall on Fierceness

ANTM, Cycle 13, Cast Jim DeYonker / The CW

Just so there's no confusion, 5 feet 7 inches isn't short for a woman. Nor is it short for a season of America's Next Top Model.

If the big turnout—and by "big," we mean frighteningly big drama—for if the auditions were any indication, Tyra Banks' troop of lovelies-in-training should be no less tall on talent than previous seasons.

For lucky cycle 13, premiering Wednesday, Sept. 9 on the CW, contestants could not exceed the 5-foot-7-inch height maximum. The shrimpiest is four inches shorter than that (gasp!).

Banks leads the panel of experts, including [noted] photographer Nigel Barker, runway expert J. Alexander and a revolving seat of guest judges, including Lauren Conrad and Kim Kardashian.

Without further ado, here's your list of beauties vying for a $100,000 modeling contract with CoverGirl, management by Wilhelmina Models and six pages in Seventeen magazine:

Tyra Banks Stalker Gets Probation, Stalker School

A school for stalkers? Who knew?

A New York Judge today sentenced the Georgia man found guilty of stalking Tyra Banks to one year of probation. In addition, 39-year-old Brady Green was ordered to avoid any contact with the supermodel for two years and to enroll in an antistalking course.

Clad in a natty brown suit, Green appeared in Manhattan Criminal Court accompanied by his attorney. Neither addressed reporters after the hearing was over.

During the trial, Banks testified she was terrified after Green repeatedly turned up at both the Los Angeles and New York studios for The Tyra Banks Show in 2008. In one instance, he tried to push past security, claiming he "had a thing" with her. Banks was barricaded in her dressing room until he was removed.

Top Model Dumps Paulina and Her "Huge Ego"

Apparently Tyra Banks doesn't want to share the top with Paulina Porizkova anymore.

The '80s-era supermodel revealed Tuesday that she has been booted from her judge's post on America's Next Top Model, which wraps up its 12th cycle on Wednesday.

"Listen, do you know why I am in Los Angeles? Because I am looking for a job," Porizkova informed Craig Ferguson when the Late Late Show host inquired about her latest TV gig. "Because I was fired by America's Next Top Model on my birthday."

Tyra Banks Stalker Guilty!

Tyra Banks, Courthouse Sketch Rosenberg

This is one kind of fierce Tyra Banks will be happy to do without.

A New York judge this morning found 39-year-old Georgia man Brady Green guilty of stalking the star.

The verdict was delivered just 24 hours after the supermodel took the stand and testified that Green's actions left her terrified for her safety and that of her staff.

Manhattan Criminal Court Judge James Burke convicted Green of stalking, harassment, criminal trespass and attempted aggravated harassment. He described Green's actions as "knowingly and inherently invalid and the behavior was hounding."

Although the sentencing isn't until June 18 and Green faces up to 90 days in the slammer, the judge said he would spare Green from serving jail time provided he get some help—preferably outside the Big Apple.

"Put Mr. Green in a location where he can thrive," Burke told the defense team, per the New York Daily News. "And that location is not likely to be the city of New York."

According to the New York Post, Burke also ordered the supermarket employee receive mental treatment, "something that can help Green in the future."

"I'm disappointed with the verdict, but I'm glad the judge did not send him to jail," defense attorney Jeffery Berman told reporters, adding that he plans to appeal.

"Terrified" Tyra Banks Testifies Against Alleged Stalker, Who Says He Never Meant to Scare Her

Tyra Banks had her own moment in the hot seat this morning.

The supermodel-TV host took the stand in Manhattan Criminal Court to testify against her accused stalker, 39-year-old Brady Green, who's on trial for charges of stalking, harassment and criminal trespassing.

According to the New York Daily News, the star was calm as she told the court how terrified she and her staff were in March 2008 when Green attempted to get past security at the Tyra Banks Show studio. The staff wouldn't allow Banks to exit her dressing room.

"'Stop! No! You can't leave,' " she claimed they said. "I know I have fans, but I've never in my entire career had my staff act in this way."

Tyra's Alleged Stalker Goes on Trial

Tyra Banks' most enthusiastic—and unwelcome—fan has finally scored a date with the supermodel-talk host. Unfortunately, it's in court.

Brady Green, a 37-year-old Georgia man who was arrested last spring, goes on trial in Manhattan Criminal Court today for charges of stalking, harassment and criminal trespass.

Banks is expected to testify during the trial.

Brady has pleaded not guilty on all counts and has so far rejected several plea deals offered by the prosecution to avoid jail time. Yesterday, Judge James Burke gave approval for most of Green's police statements to be used as evidence in the trial.

And there were some doozies.
