Confirmed: NBC Orders Three More Eps of Trauma!

Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Trauma Paul Drinkwater/NBC

Update, 3:22 p.m.: Sources confirm to us that NBC is ordering three additional episodes of Trauma. Whoo-hoo! Three eps from the existing 13-episode order are left for after Christmas, to be paired with the three episodes just picked up. When and where these six will air remains to be determined, since NBC's winter Monday-night lineup is full now with Chuck, Heroes and Leno. Can we get a hell yes?! (P.S. Good job Finke and thank you, NBC!)

OK, TV gods, let's make this happen.

Nikki Finke says NBC is going to pick up more episodes of Trauma after all.

We say OMGYAY!

Now, Nikki says she was told the pickup of additional eps came after a ratings uptick. Based on what we can see as amateur Nielsen analysts, the ratings on Trauma really haven't been vividly amazing or anything lately (they hit a postpremiere peak a couple of weeks back). The most optimistic statistics are that it does better in overall viewers in the overnight ratings than time-slot buddy Heroes and that it then picks up a not-terrible 15 percent more watchers when you throw in the DVR numbers.

But here's the thing: We don't think it's the numbers that are really the magic here (and TVbytheNumbers commenters agree with us).

So why in the world might NBC be considering more Trauma? Here's our take, and you should listen to us, because we are pretty much the media's only expert in Trauma...

Spoiler Chat: Grey's Anatomy's Kevin McKidd Dishes on (And Defends!) "Love Triangle"

Greys Anatomy, Kim Raver, Kevin McKidd ABC/Randy Holmes

Cristina hates her. With a passion. And so far, it seems that some of you fans do too.

Ever since Kim Raver (whom Cristina named "Desert Storm Barbie") was introduced on Thursday's episode of Grey's Anatomy, our inbox has overflowed with messages from fans wanting to know what's next for their favorite couple, Cristina Yang (Sandra Oh) and Owen (Kevin McKidd), now that Kim's character, Dr. Teddy Altman, is in the mix.

Well, we just talked to Kevin himself, and he admits that he, too, was concerned at first about the triangle, but he warmed up to it, and tells you fans why you might want to keep an open mind.

Oh, and if you want to know what's next for Glee (Christmas song!), Vampire Diaries (dish from Kevin Williamson himself) or Desperate Housewives (who won't die?), we have that too.

It's all in our latest roundup of exclusive TV scoop...

Alex in Rhode Island: Please don't tell me Kim Raver is sticking around long on Grey's Anatomy!

Spoiler Chat: Lady Gaga Gets in on Gossip Girl Threesome!

Gossip Girl, Jessica Szohr, Penn Badgley, Hilary Duff Giovanni Rufino/ The CW

By now, most of you have seen it: Tonight's ménage à truhhhbuuuhhhl.

It was pretty lame tame, right? But fear you not, next week things will get much saucier via flashbacks of the ménage-à-shocker as the three little birds piece together what happened.

So what happens next on Gossip Girl? Are D and O over? What about V? And what's this about a certain Miss Lady Gaga getting in on the threeway action?

We have the scoop in our latest roundup of exclusive TV dish, along with the latest on Grey's hot couplings (will it be Cristina and Owen or Cristina and Jackson?), Chuck's sad news for fans of Sarah and Chuck, and a breakup on Friday Night Lights...

Lucas in Evanston, Ill.: Forget Owen and Cristina on Grey's Anatomy! Give us some scoop on Cristina and Jackson! Please?

This Just In: Kim Kardashian to Guest on CSI: NY

Kim Kardashian Jeffrey Ufberg/Getty Images

• Keeping Up With the Kardashians: Kourtney is pregnant, Khloé is married, and Kim...got a job? Yep, Kim Kardashian tweeted this morning, "Up and on my way to the set of CSI Wish me luck! Have the best day guys! xo." CBS reps confirm that today is Kim's first day of shooting for the Dec. 16 episode of CSI: NY. Kim and fellow guest star Vanessa Minnillo play a pair of hot would-be criminal masterminds.

Mark Your Calendars: Showtime has announced premiere dates for the new seasons of three excellent series. Crazy mamas Edie Falco and Toni Collette are back at it when Nurse Jackie and The United States of Tara return Mar. 22. The final season of The Tudors, starring Joely Richardson as the last wife of a finally fat Henry VIII (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), premieres April 11. Oh, and for the five remaining humans who haven't seen Twilight, the TV premiere is set for Jan. 23 on Showtime.

Top Chef: For those who felt defrauded by the lack of a new episode of Top Chef this week, we offer you this exciting (but profane, thanks to Mike Voltaggio) sneak peek of next week's episode, featuring that notorious layabout Padma Lakshmi.

Sammie in Omaha, Neb.: Is there any hope for Trauma? I'm loving the show! It's an entertaining, action-packed drama, plus Rabbit-Nancy is awesome! It's been staying almost even with Heroes in ratings, and the latest episode actually had more overall viewers.

Evening News: NBC Books Three More Episodes of Trauma

Trauma: Woo! Trauma, the underrated San Francisco paramedic drama from Friday Night Lights producer Peter Berg, will air at least three more episodes, through Nov. 16. Trauma's not dead yet, and that's good news, because we need to know what happens between Rabbit (Cliff Curtis) and Nancy (Anastasia Griffith) after he saves her life next week.

So You Think You Can Dance: Already they're dropping like flies! (What is this, Dancing With the Stars?)  Billy Bell dropped out of SYTYCD yesterday due to illness, and now Noelle Marsh is out of tonight's competition show thanks to a busted knee.

Two and a Half Men: We know it's technically the most popular sitcom on TV or something, but we hate that Battlestar babe Tricia Helfer is guesting on Two and a Half Men. We don't mind the skimpy lingerie though. (She's the prettiest.)

Big Love: OK, this is just narsty, but it does explain a lot. Big Love season-four spoiler alert: Wanda (Melora Walters) and J.J.'s (Zeljko Ivanek) parents were apparently siblings. Yes, like in Flowers in the Attic, a brother and sister got together, resulting in misbegotten children, one of whom is daft (Wanda) and one whom is straight crazypants (J.J.). Blech.

Good Show, Bad Time Slot: A Little Testimony for NBC's Trauma

Anatasia Griffith, Cliff Curtiss, Trauma Paul Drinkwater/NBC

Awww...poor Trauma. All the other new NBC shows got full-season orders today, and Trauma was left out in the cold with, well, nothing.

We've seen a lot of ragging on this show, but we're willing to bet that most of the bloggers dissing it haven't actually seen Trauma since they screened the pilot they got in the mail six months ago. Why? Well, because Trauma airs at a 9 p.m. on Monday, opposite watercooler hits Gossip Girl, Dancing With the Stars and Big Bang Theory. Unless you are one of those rare birds with more than two TiVo tuners, Trauma's just not going to make it onto your radar or your regular TV schedule.

We were in the same boat, to be perfectly honest, but after catching a snippet on TV and being unexpectedly intrigued, we caught up with the first four eps of Trauma online (you can do the same via Hulu or Fancast) and by Jove, we think it's a pretty decent show.

We're here to ask you to give it a chance...
