Robert Pattinson: All the Rumors Are True

Loading...

See, you can believe everything you read. At least according to Robert Pattinson, who fessed up to all those relentless rumors about him during an appearance on the Today show Thursday morning.

Nonstop dating? Yep. Romancing a costar? Of course. Engaged? Absolutely. Hit by a cab? Definitely. Drug overdose? Damn straight!

All right, so maybe he was joking when he said yes to that last one. Or to some of them. Or all of them.

"I actually come up with these rumors about myself," Pattinson pointed out.

OK, now we know he's kidding!

Or is he?

Sandra Bullock's Kudos to Kathie Lee's Keester on Today

More from The Soup

Sandra Bullock's portrayal of southern mom Leigh Anne Tuohy in the new film The Blind Side finds her in a blond wig, looking astonishingly like Kathie Lee Gifford, according to Today's Matt Lauer.

Even though Kathie Lee instantly appears on set to compare hair, it's her rear end that attracts Bullock's admiration.

Look for her next project to be a Kathie Lee biopic. Called The Back Side.

The Force Is With Today, Unlike Vamp'd-Up View

Meredith Vieira doesn't like it when Ewoks grab her backside.

"Don't touch my butt," she scolded as the frisky, troll-like creatures put a minor hitch in the otherwise impressive Today show Halloween on the Plaza that went back in time to Star Wars circa 1977.

Vieira was dressed as Princess Leia, Matt Lauer as Luke Skywalker, Al Roker as Han Solo, Natalie Morales as Padmé Amidala and Kathy Lee Gifford as C-3PO. Ann Curry breathed new life into Darth Vader, while Hoda Kotb was "Yoda, I am."

The lucky morning talkers were able to score props and costumes from Lucasfilm, and the authenticity of the setup was, as Curry said, "cool."

Of course, the early risers played up the theme, kicking off the segment with a video complete with scrolling text.

This Story Even Makes Balloon Boy Sick

Heene Family, Wife Swap ABC

Richard Heene is already sick and tired of accusations that yesterday's balloon drama is being called a hoax. Falcon Heene, the 6-year-old boy behind it, is just sick.

The former Wife Swap family, including mom Mayumi and older brothers Ryo and Bradford, appeared via satellite on the Today show this morning. They're all trying to clear the air following last night's appearance on CNN in which Falcon infamously said the reason he didn't come out from the attic was because "You guys said that we did this for a show."

As dad was explaining that his youngest son didn't fully understand the question, the kid showed his true feelings about the whole thing.

By vomiting.

It took NBC nearly 30 seconds to cut away from the poor kid—feel better, Falcon!—and get back to the matter at hand. By the time he was asked once again if it was all a hoax, dad's stomach was churning, too.

"Absolutely not. And now I'm starting to get a little ticked off because I'm repetitively getting asked this," he demanded. "What have I got to gain out of this? I'm not selling anything, I'm not advertising anything."

Kate Gosselin: Jon Took the Money and Ran

The family as a whole may have made major bucks from their hit TLC show, but Kate Gosselin is currently living hand-to-mouth.

Reports that Jon Gosselin removed $230,000 from the family's joint bank account and leaving her with only $1,000 are true, she tells Meredith Vieira on the Today show this morning.

"I have a stack of bills in my purse I can't drop in the mail," she says, choking up. "The last thing I wanted was to do this show and end up not being able to pay our bills."

Given all the drama, the star of Jon & Kate Plus 8 admits, "Every morning, I don't know what I'm going to wake up to…[Jon] has gone way far off the trail."

Joel McHale Weathers Today

More from The Soup

Despite the boyish charm and passion for people over 100, Soup boss Joel McHale is no Willard Scott.

That didn't stop him from dropping by Today this morning to not only help Al Roker out with the weather, but dwarf him considerably.

And speaking of weather, there's an entire frontal system of Joel headed your way. Dig his wicked thespian skills in the NBC show Community premiering tonight, and in the Matt Damon vehicle The Informant. Plus a little basic cable thing this Friday night at 10 p.m. ET/PT called The Soup.

The Today Show Gets Bush'd

Jenna Bush AP Photo/Jeff Christensen

Good Morning America may have Melissa Rycroft, but the Today show is about to get downright presidential.

Former first daughter Jenna Bush Hager, one-half of George W. Bush's twin set, is joining the NBC morning show's roster of special contributing correspondents, the network announced this morning.

The 27-year-old reformed party girl and two-time New York Times best-selling author will cover feature and human-interest stories starting Sept. 14. She'll be based appropriately in Washington, D.C.

"In previous appearances, [Jenna] displayed a natural ability to communicate and connect," executive producer Jim Bell said in a statement. "She has great passion about important subjects, especially education and literacy, and we look forward to having her bring her unique perspective to Today."

When she's not on TV, Jenna will remain a reading resource teacher at a public school in Baltimore. Thankfully, she's keeping her infamous dance moves to herself.

Miley Steers Clear of the Pole on Today

Miley Cyrus may have rocked a stormy stage on the Today show this morning, but she steered clear of opening up any critical floodgates by keeping her performances family-friendly.

Careful to avoid a Teen Choice Awards redo, the tween queen sang her now-infamous single, "Party in the U.S.A.," while fighting all urges to straddle the pole in her dance routine.

Granted, the "pole" we speak of was really just a leg of the tent being used to shield the band from the ensuing New York rainstorm, but Miley definitely switched up her choreography for the screaming moms and daughters below.

Before you start to worry, she was still "moving [her] hips, like, yeah."
