Carrie Bradshaw & Co. are getting an extra dose of fabulous in the upcoming Sex and the City flick.

I just got word that Tim Gunn is going to appear in the sequel.

A rep for Gunn confirms the cameo, which he's shooting in New York City right now!

No word yet on what the Project Runway guru will be doing in the film, but I'm told he's playing himself.

This wouldn't be the first time Gunn has been in business with Sarah Jessica Parker...

Dr. Oz Talks Oprah, Dr. Phil and Farrah Fawcett

More from Marc Malkin

Oprah Winfrey means ratings. But that doesn't mean Dr. Mehmet Oz will have the media queen on his new syndicated talk show just to boost his viewership.

"I'd love to have her on the show," Oz tells me during a break from shooting in his New York City studio. "But the big issue is, it's not for me, but for our audience. We have to have a reason to bring her onto the show. If we have a topic that can benefit from having her on the show, believe me, we'll all be thinking the same thing."

And not to worry—there are already plans for Oz to make return appearances on the Oprah Winfrey Show. But television isn't the only thing Oz is focusing on these days…

Taylor Swift, January Jones, Emily Blunt & Friends Keep Fashion Week Fashionable

The tents at Bryant Park are being disassembled, and socialites everywhere are getting a foot rub. New York Fashion Week has come to a close.

This season brought bright colors and bold prints and even brighter, bolder celebrities.

From Lady Gaga performing at the Marc Jacobs afterparty to Mickey Rourke ogling "fat" models, stars—and the swarm of aggressive photographers that followed them—couldn't be avoided. So, we did what we do best. We mingled with them!

Taylor Swift told us what she thought of the Tommy Hilfiger show, Mad Men's January Jones explained Jon Hamm's appeal, and Emily Blunt talked about her hands (you know, the ones with the big rock from John Krasinski). And that's just the tip of the very swanky iceberg.

Sean Penn Debuts New Girlfriend Amid NYC's Star-Studded Weekend Bashes

Sean Penn, Jessica White StarTracks

What a weekend for New Yorkers!

With the MTV Video Music Awards, Fashion Week, the U.S. Open and all the star-studded parties that come with them, so much fun stuff went down.

Let's start with the leggy.

Newly separated (again!) Sean Penn stepped out with Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Jessica White to celebrate fellow catwalker Noemie Lenoir's birthday at new hot spot Abe & Arthur's on Saturday night.

The following evening, Jay-Z's sleek VMAs afterparty took over 1Oak and included guests from Rihanna and Beyoncé to Justin Timberlake and Jessica Alba.

Outside, however, things took a dustier turn when Diddy had a "misunderstanding," as his rep tells E! News, with some cops. Worry not, the NYPD says no arrests were made, and all related parties seem to think the situation was "blown out of proportion."

Get a Load of These (Tim) Gunns

Tim Gunn, Models INC Comic Marvel

Forget the fashion police. Sartorial criminals of the world now have Tim Gunn to answer to.

The Project Runway soothsayer is getting downright animated, making his long-awaited comics debut in the just-released premiere issue of Marvel's revival of Models Inc. The title, centering on the world of high fashion, first made runway and comic book enthusiasts (a niche demographic, surely) go gaga back in the 1960s.

In "Loaded Gunn," the mentor extraordinaire, who let his geek flag fly when gushing about his comic experience on the Daily Show last month, does his darnedest to save an exhibit of superhero outfits from villains.

He's putting the superpower back into power suit.

Project Runway Returns With All-Stars, New Stars and a Couple of Actual Stars

Project Runway, Tim Gunn, Korto Momolu, Sweet P Vaughn, Chris March, Uli Herzner, Mychael Knight, Santino Rice, Jeffrey Sebelia, Daniel Vosovic David Russell/Lifetime Networks

The biggest Project Runway competition of the night?

Whether Lifetime's inaugural cast could match the sheer fun of the All-Star Challenge, which pitted eight Bravo-era returnees—including Daniel Vosovic, Korto Momolu and a double-barrel blast of bad boys Santino Rice and Jeffrey Sebelia—against one another.

Thank goodness, Tim Gunn was there, too.

Competing for the chance to design for Nicole Kidman, a $100K prize and the opportunity to destroy a restaurant dining room, the pros showed at the very least they all still know how to make watchable TV.

And the new L.A. crew, which includes a budding neurosurgeon turned designer, an emotional former crystal meth addict and self-proclaimed "plus-sexy" designer being judged by Lindsay Lohan? Not too shabby, either. Do you agree?

They're Sew In: Top 9 Project Runway Challenges

Austin, Project Runway Bravo

It's finally time to make it work! Project Runway is back.

We can't wait to see what Heidi Klum and Tim Gunn have in store for us in season six. Just thinking about it gives us almost as much glee as some of the best challenges from the previous five seasons.

So we've compiled a special video top 9 of the most exciting tasks given to the designers from previous seasons. Considering the show is so fierce, choosing wasn't the easiest job. That's why we're leaving no. 10 in your hands.

You won't find Kenley Collins weeping, Rami Kashou draping another Grecian dress or Uli Herzner selecting another crazy print here. These design situations are all sew totally "in"!

Project Runway Favorites Cut Up All-Star Challenge

Lifetime is making a smart play for Bravo's Project Runway fans.

Just before it kicks off its first season of airing the show—the show's sixth overall—the network will be courting tried-and-true viewers by taking a page from the Survivor, Top Chef and Big Brother playbooks.

Project Runway: All-Star Challenge, a two-hour special pitting favorite designers from past seasons in a head-to-head battle, will air Aug. 20 just before the new season's premiere.

Not unlike the first time around, the eight designers—all of whom placed in the top five on their respective seasons—will be competing for a sweet $100,000 cash prize.

Sadly, Kenley Collins won't be putting down her cat, and Christian Siriano is too busy plotting his November takeover of Starbucks to participate. So who will be heading into the workroom?

Tim Gunn Gets a Shiny New (Iron Man) Suit

Tim Gunn, Iron Man, Marvel Comic Phil Jimenez/Marvel Entertainment

Only a few good men can make a metal suit look dashing—just ask Tim Gunn.

The Project Runway mentor will be donning a dapper Iron Man suit in a new comic miniseries called Models Inc., set to debut Aug. 26.

According to the New York Times, the first book takes place during New York Fashion Week. After runway models Mary Jane (yes, Peter Parker's Mary Jane) and Patsy Walker (alias: Hellcat) team up to clear Millicent Collins (aka Millie the Model) of murdering a set designer, the fashion guru borrows Robert Downey Jr.'s shiny supersuit to save the day and guide the designer's ladies.

"I'm not certain of the particulars of how I'll be portrayed," Gunn told the Times, admitting he remembers Millicent's comics, which bowed in 1945, because she was a model. "To say I'm a character in a comic book is wild!"

The silver fox is in good company—Eminem recently battled the Punisher, and President Barack Obama teamed with Spider-Man just in time for the inauguration.

Rise 'n' Shine: Mariah Carey Is Not Earth-Day Friendly

Mariah Carey Steve Granitz/Getty Images

•  Mariah Carey may be prepping to celebrate her first wedding anniversary with Nick Cannon, but she's probably not switching all her lightbulbs to fluorescents. She was recently named the least green celebrity (which had nothing to do with comparisons to Shrek).

•  Miley Cyrus and Heidi Montag have become Twitter buddies—three things we hoped we'd never have to put together in one sentence.

•  Those New Moon wolves are (sexy) beasts!

•  Project Runway silver fox Tim Gunn hasn't had a date in 26 years, but who's counting?

•  Sean Penn likes that President Barack Obama smiles. We think he ought to give it a try as well.

•  Dear Jenna Dewan: You're probably not "the worst bride in the world," but, if we were marrying delicious Channing Tatum, we'd have stepped up already. Love, Rise 'n' Shine

Ellen DeGeneres Suffers Power Outage

Ellen DeGeneres Michael Caulfield/Getty Images
More from Marc Malkin

Ellen DeGeneres has been outranked by a politico. But not by too much.

The openly gay talk-show queen was last year's No. 1 on Out magazine's Power 50 list, but this time around she's slipped to No. 2. Instead, U.S. Rep. Barney Frank has been crowned this year's queen king because of the political clout he now carries in our nation's Democratic-heavy capital.

DeGeneres isn't the only Hollywood hotshot to make the third annual list. Read on to find out more boldfaced names deemed worthy of a ranking.
