Kelly Bensimon is relieved.
The Real Housewives of New York City star finally gets to put an ongoing legal battle with an ex-boyfriend behind her.
A judge adjourned the assault case brought against her in March by former beau Nick Stefanov. The misdemeanor charges will be dismissed and her record cleared if Bensimon stays out of trouble for the next six to 12 months.
In an exclusive interview, Bensimon opens up to me about the ordeal...and the lessons learned.

Not too long ago, fellow Housewife Jill Zarin told us that she thinks Ms. Kelly should ditch the show because she never really meshed with the others.

Bethenny Frankel Doesn't Mind If You See Her Naked

Bethenny Frankel is ready for her body-baring close-up.
The Real Housewives of New York City star and E! Online celebrity blogger has signed on to strip down for PETA's iconic "I'd Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur" ad campaign.
Frankel says she has absolutely no trouble posing in the buff. She actually appears topless in a 1994 indie flick called Hollywood Hills 90028. (Yeah, we've never heard of it either.)
"I'm unexpectedly not that concerned with body image," Frankel, author of the New York Times best-selling nutritional guidebook Naturally Thin, tells me exclusively. "Take me as I am."
Frankel credits Fendi for getting her stop wearing fur...sorta.

Note to Bethenny Frankel: Your nemesis, Kelly Bensimon, has every intention of coming back for another season of The Real Housewives of New York City.
She has not yet been asked to return, but producers are no fools. Kelly's many dramas this season makes her a shoo-in for season 3.
"Bethenny was smart," Kelly says. "She fought with the new girl. She got press and she got airtime. She was smart. She did what she sought out to do."
Unfortunately, Kelly says, she didn't get to do what she "sought" out to do: to show us the real Kelly...

Oh, snap! Real Housewives of New York City's Jill Zarin thinks fellow castmate Kelly Killoren Bensimon should turn on her Louboutins and take a hike!
"I don’t think it’s working for her," Zarin told us earlier today from her New York apartment. "I don’t think she should be on the show. It's not that I think we should throw anybody off, it's just that I think if I were her, I would not do the show again. I would go back to anonymity and spend the next year trying to repair my reputation. What’s more important to her: her reputation or fame?"
Clearly, Bensimon's back-and-forth bickering with costar—and Zarin BFF—Bethenny Frankel has not helped her image. And according to Zarin, it doesn't sound like the two will come to any friendly agreement anytime soon...
Housewives' Countess: Split Has Been Difficult

Countess LuAnn de Lesseps' book debut, Class With the Countess: How to Live with Elegance and Flair, isn't even on sale yet, but she's already working on a follow up.
"It's going to be more about how you start over," the Real Housewives of New York City star told me this morning.
Starting over is something she's getting well acquainted with these days. Late last month, LuAnn's husband, Count Alex, ended their 16-year marriage with an email explaining he was involved with another woman.
Housewives Bethenny and Kelly: Friends Again?

People may have been surprised to see Real Housewives of NYC Bethenny Frankel and Kelly Bensimon posing together merrily for photographs on the red carpet at Sunday's second annual Bravo A-List Awards.
In a recent episode of the hit Bravo series, Kelly barked at Bethenny: “I don’t like you, I don’t think you’re funny, I don’t think you’re charming. We are not friends!”
Is it possible the two have reconciled? Don't bet on it...

Sounds like it's gonna get even nastier on the next Real Housewives of New York City.
"This week coming up is the most dramatic of all the episodes that I know of," Housewife Jill Zarin told us yesterday at the Kids' Choice Awards gifting lounge in Hollywood. "Bethenny tries to take Kelly down in a Sicilian way."
While Jill said she doesn't take sides, she did remind us, "Bethenny's my girl."

Bethenny Frankel really doesn't mind the false rumors that she has hooked up with Madonna's former baseball boy-toy Alex Rodriguez. She's actually been hoping he'd try to connect with her.
"I kept thinking he was going to call," Bethenny told us this weekend during an appearance at Fred Segal Fun in Santa Monica for her new book, Naturally Thin: Unleash Your SkinnyGirl and Free Yourself from a Lifetime of Dieting. "And now I feel like a jilted lover…He won't even make the rumor true."
And yes, the Real Housewives of New York City star thinks she can compete with Madonna. "I'm not as famous as Madonna, but I can do the same yoga poses as she can."

I'm happy to confirm that there’s plenty of catfighting on the new season of The Real Housewives of New York City. Not only did things kick off last week with Jill trashing Alex’s husband, Simon, in Cindy Adams’ New York Post column (she basically called him a drunk), but Alex tells me things will get rough between her and Ramona.
“You can definitely expect fireworks with me and Ramona,” McCord says. “We’ve all been thrown together in this as a dysfunctional family. We all know each other better and when you know someone better, you also know their weak spots.”
