Is The Hills "Running Out of Gas"?

Lo Bosworth Isaac Brekken/Getty Images

If you're still a rabid Hills fan, you might want to start texting in messages of support for the show to MTV, because one castmember tells us that the future of the series is in question.

We just chatted up the lovely Lo Bosworth outside the Undrest store on chic Robertson Blvd. in L.A., and she isn't sure that The Hills will come back for another season after this one.

So what's the hang-up? Here's what we learned:

Kristin Cavallari Thinks The Hills Is Bigger Than Grey's Anatomy

Kristen Cavallari Jesse Grant/Getty Images

Don't look now, but Kristin Cavallari totally drank the crazy punch.

We met up with The Hills understudy star last night at the Rock the Kasbah charity gala in Hollywood, and she insisted that The Hills "is the No. 1 show and we are doing really well."

We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but The Hills' ratings are most assuredly down this season, by an average of more than 30 percent overall. (The season started out weak with 2.3 million and sank to 1.72 million on Oct. 13.) Still, when asked about the lower ratings, Kristin insisted: "No, they are not! We had one drop because of the Hip Hop awards on VH1, but then they went up the next week."

Whatever helps you sleep through the night, sweet girl! (Hopefully without Justin Bobby.)

In recent weeks, The Hills' ratings drop has received quite a lot of press, with many critics blaming Kristin's replacement of Lauren Conrad for the dip. Kristin calls that assertion unfair...

This Just In: The Hills Viewers Flee Kristin Cavallari

The Hills: Kristin Cavallari fail. Somewhere in West Hollywood, Lauren Conrad is laughing her ass off. Ratings for The Hills are down one-third this season—i.e., ever since the former Laguna Beach star rejoined the cast, purportedly as the L.C.-equivalent lead character.

Glee: There's a new sneak peek out of Glee's upcoming Nov. 11 episode (which we've seen and which rocks). "Wheels" centers on Kevin McHale's Artie, and he tells us, "At the end of 'Wheels' there's a huge wheelchair dance number—I can't say what song it is—OK, it's a play on words. It's my favorite number, although I'm biased."

In Treatment: HBO just renewed the Gabriel Byrne-starring critically acclaimed therapy drama In Treatment for a third season.

Dollhouse: TV auteur Joss Whedon appeared before his people again yesterday with consoling words about Dollhouse being kicked out of November sweeps: "Howzabout that schedule? Well, I'm not as depressed as everyone else...We get November to try to spread the word...and then December is pure gluttony."

Chace Crawford, Joanna Garcia Giovanni Rufino / The CW

We've got the dish on Bree Buckley's bad intentions on Gossip Girl. (Did you really think she was as good as she seemed?) The Hills Sneak Peeks: ""You Guys Came at Me Like F--king Piranhas!"

Loading...

The Hills are alive with the sound of—well, definitely not music.

The second half of season five starts back up tonight, but unfortunately these sneak peeks are surprisingly lame tame, we mean tame.

We've been promised the showdown of a lifetime between Hills vet Audrina Patridge and Miss "The Bitch Is Back" Kristin Cavallari for months now, but if these clips are any inclination, it's going to be a season filled with the oh-so-expected name calling and the behind-the-back talking.

Luckily for MTV, fans never seem to tire of these same ole shenanigans and are still tuning in, even without what's-her-face—you know, the one who used to narrate The Hills and went by a few initials?

See the "devastating" aftermath of Kristin's arrival after the jump.

Wanna See Kristin Cavallari's Return to The Hills?

Have you spent your summer wondering, "What tagline will they write for the new season of The Hills?" If yes, then we're happy to report that per the promo video above, season five of The Hills can be summarized in four words: "The bitch is back."

Yes, Kristin Cavallari rejoins her high school friends this season after a long time away from the MTV-sponsored Laguna Beach/Hills clique, and in punishment for her self-imposed exile, they're calling her names. Reality-TV producers can be so cruel.

In other news, She-Pratt and Lo Bosworth are looking hot. Artificial and manufactured, but hot.

The Hills returns to MTV Sept. 29. Based on the promo footage released today, will you be there?

You know that look CSI: Miami's David Caruso gives when words aren't enough to fully bring the drama? Or the glances shared on any episode of The Hills (especially you, Lauren Conrad!)

We call those looks used in lieu of dialogue face acting.

Not very clever, you say? Got a better one? Go for it!

Holly Montag Talks Heidi Pratt's Playboy Shoot & Sanjaya Hookup Rumors

Holly Montag, Janice Dickinson, I'm a Celebrity?Get Me Out of Here Tyler Golden/NBC

Holly Montag might have only been on I'm a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! for a few weeks, but she left quite an impression for her special friendship with former American Idol contestant Sanjaya Malakar.

But before we get to that, Heidi Pratt's little sister, who got voted out of the jungle last night and talked to reporters this morning, dished on her big sis' upcoming Playboy shoot...

Heidi & Spencer: "Evil," "Crazy," "Reprehensible"...and Coming Back?

Heidi Montag, Spencer Pratt, I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out Of Here NBC Photo: Tyler Golden

"They're kids. They're very immature," says comedian Angela V. Shelton, who was the first celebrity to be voted out of the jungle on I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, about Heidi and Spencer Pratt, who famously quit the show then begged to come back.

"I think Spencer and Heidi operate on a different form of energy than the rest of us, which may, in fact, be the dark forces," she told reporters this morning. "I think their attacks on people are personal and unprovoked. They have a tendency toward low blows."

Low blows and all, it looks like Speidi will indeed be returning to the show on the Monday night episode. But why would the likes of fellow castmates like Janice Dickinson, Stephen and Daniel Baldwin allow them back?

The Hills: Stephanie Pratt's Wedding Confusion

Loading...

Spencer Pratt's sister Stephanie Pratt isn't doing much to assure naysayers that her brother's wedding to Heidi Montag this weekend in Pasadena is a sure thing.

Even though everyone from Lauren Conrad to Brody Jenner confirmed they were invited (Lauren's not going. Brody is going) and even though The Hills producers told us that they are filming the wedding this weekend for the show's season finale, Stephanie isn't so sure.

"I would like to see an invite. I don't have a date invite. I have May 2 and 3 on hold—24th and 25th on hold, so we'll see," Stephanie told E! News. On a scale of 1 to 10 would the wedding happen this weekend? She said, "Six only because I'm getting spray tanned tomorrow."

Check out the E! News interview in the video above to hear more from Stephanie, as well as whether or not the cast thinks Spencer is marriage material, what Whitney Port is up to and more.
