Morning Piss: Obama's New Dawning

Obama's start is looking dubious

So far, President-elect Barack Obama seems to be taking two right steps forward (gearing up more jobs for this hideous economy, taking his shirt off), one very wrong step back, like asking Prop 8 supporter Rick Warren, who openly associated gays with pedophiles when he backed the proposition, to say a prayer for Obama at the inauguration.

It's already smacking of how Bill Clinton courted the gay vote only to initiate "don't ask, don't tell" within the American military, once he was elected. Some thanks, eh? Pretend you don't exist.

And now, Obama's essentially doing the same thing by appearing at gay voter rallies, preelection, saying how much he may not support gay marriage, but he sure as hell does like gay domestic partnerships and the gay vote! Melissa Etheridge, however, preaches more tolerance. In fact, she's blogged about how she even agreed to forgive and move forward with Warren himself, a fascinating prospect, to be sure.

As Melissa says, "the choice is ours." Yours, too, President Obama. Do not let down the minority that helped get you elected. And have a friggin' happy new year, your big muscle stud—you, too, everybody else!
